Re: advice on shooting the Z88 (and other beretta 92 clones)
I thInk what it boils down to is how a particular gun fits you ie my auto 5 shotgun fits me like a dream but a friend hates it. My unfired mk3 blUed and ambidexterous high power feels like it was made or my hand but the damm thing is unfired and I can't bring myself to break it in. If it could be replaced the z88 might no longer be the one I use. Also have a little 38 that went through 2 sets of grips until a set of houges turned that 2 inch snub into something that practically aims itself. That said I do however have about 7 handguns in total and if most are not used for awhile all need at least 50 rounds before I get back into the groove. Matter of fact you don't actually need to shoot it just point it at random objects around the house(unloaded) until it starts to become second nature and like and old girlfriend. But to answer your question all guns need work if yoou want to shoot better than average but some just fit better witout as much work. That may just be the case with your Z, but spend the time with it and get to know it and in time it will become second nature.

the transition from my other guns to the Z is tedious.
while transition between all the other guns are less so.live out your imagination , not your history.

Re: advice on shooting the Z88 (and other beretta 92 clones)
KK20, I've owned a Beretta 92SB for close on to 10 years now as my primary weapon. I find it is a large handgun but even changing between it and a Glock I don't have much of and accuracy problem between the two. I have shot many other handguns Browning HP. Tangfoglio, Astra, Colt, Sig, H&K after having worked at a shooting range for a while.
I agree with the comments regarding the grip of the weapon affecting your accuracy. Essentially I beleive that if you grip is not correct on a weapon it will directly influence your accuracy.
I fitted a Hogue full wrap-around grip with finger grooves to my Beretta and I find it very comfortable to shoot, as well as assisting me with the correct initial grip of the weapon when drawing and firing. I suggest trying a grip like this out but as with every gun you need to get comfortable with any weapon. The more you shoot the better...
Regards,
Miguel.

Re: advice on shooting the Z88 (and other beretta 92 clones)
No problem, try them out. They will also fit nicely on your Beretta 92 Elite. I know a good friend of mine in the Police who uses the same Hogue full wrap-around grips on his duty Z88. All other grips to me seem much the same as just using the original paddle grips. Get used to them and them see what your shooting is like after say 3/400 rounds.
I suggest practicing drawing the weapon from your holster, fire one shot. Make safe. Holster it again and then repeat again, slowly speeding up to get your placement of your hand right on the weapon before it leaves the holster? Good luck & happy shooting.

Re: advice on shooting the Z88 (and other beretta 92 clones)
The only downside to rubber grips is that the catch onto concealment garments and it is more difficult to adjust your grip oce you grab the gun. I tried Hogue on my CZ and really liked them but took them off after 2 weeks due to....

Re: advice on shooting the Z88 (and other beretta 92 clones)
You that shoot with the Z88, do you shoot the first shot hammer
down, if 1 up, or do you cock?
For years I cock with my left thumb while pushing out for ready position.
Now, the Americans taught me to shoot with hammer down and it makes
for a longer trigger squeeze. My thirst shot is always slightly of the
centre — sometimes on, sometimes off.
