Thanks for the heads up Ikor. After some trouble I eventually managed to find and land the G type low profile kits for the full size and the subcompact. Decocker only is better IMHO and the profile is also snag free(er).

    Oh, thank Glub!

I was afraid you would give yourself an appendectomy with the stupid standard ones.

you guys talking about the slim line safety / de-cocker for the PX4's. I did look into those as well, but i feel that as i will use my PX4 for carry one-up with the safety/ de-cocker applied, that the slim line may lend itself to thumb slipping off the lever when one attempts to off-safe the gun.

The standard levers are, admittedly, rather sharp though, which is not good, they would have done well to copy the old 92F type safeties of old.

You're missing the main point Andy. By fitting these you turn the gun into a "G" type. In other words there is no safety. The firearm then has a decocker only. When you push the lever down it decocks the gun. The moment you take your thumb off the lever it automatically pops up again into the "fire" position. So the first shot is effectively a no safety, double action arrangement. A pretty decent carry arrangement. The kit includes not only the slimline G type decocking lever but also a slimline slide release.

ahh okay, do you also own a sub-compact, i have the sub PX4 in 9mmP and would not mind giving this a try, is it the "G" type or did you just remove something to convert your "F" to a "G" or what?

Andy, its all in the posts and the links. You can do a "butcher job" which is largely irreversible but the right way is to import the G parts. You just pop out the F parts, fit the G parts and you have a proper G model. Don't like it? Easy, refit the F parts. Just a few minutes each way.

I already know my opinion. A gun with a safety that releases opposite to everything I've ever owned or used will get me killed when I need it most. It's a totally k@k idea IMHO (for me anyway). Either it must a totally intuitive safety that you release without even thinking when you haul the popgun out or there must be no safety at all. I like revolvers for that reason. Idiot proof. Now because I reckon I am an idiot at certain times I prefer semi-autos that are also idiot proof. There is just no basis upon which I will ever reconvert the guns to a model F. Hope I've answered your question. :-)
