Re: You think you can Shoot, check these Guys!
they are clearly very, very good at what they are doing as a sport- smooth, accurate and fast!
But not the most tactically sound actions at times. pushing their gun/hands beyond cover, standing in the fatal funnel, going in the opposite direction to slicing the pie (see 3m20s)
I understand this is a sport and they would act differently in a real situation, such as not running around corners to engage targets, but habits are formed in training that are hard to avoid under stress.

Sevigny is now at FNH apparently.
Also if one cannot seperate gun gaming from gun fighting perhaps you should do neither.Cattle die, kindred die, every man is mortal:
But I know one thing that never dies,
the glory of the great dead.

Re: You think you can Shoot, check these Guys!
I know it's a bit like the tired old MMA sport vs street fighting debate. I am sure those guys and gals would kick serious ass in a gunfight. my comment was just meant as food for thought for perhaps a gung ho noob who might get the impression that speed and running and gunning are all that matters.
I am in no way a master of either gun gaming or gun fighting, and meant no disrespect to the sport.

A lot of people are completely into it just for the sport and self defense is not their reason for involvement.

Sport, that's all it is, you don't run around from room to room shooting all people in SD. Another thing, any of you guys that spend that much time and that much money shooting all day long, you would be almost/just as good. I have found that many a deciding factor in sport is those who had a chance/money, and those who didn't.

Dave Sevigny shoots around 50000 rounds a year and practices between 8-24 hours a week depending on the event he is training for.

I agree and I am sure most shooting professionals agree, that being pro at the sport side of shooting, does not mean you will be pro at real life tactical combat.
