    Default Recoil Reducers

Has anyone used a mercury recoil reducer? If so how much difference did it make?

I put it into a 3006 for my son, also added a pachmayr recoil pad.

It has made a substantial difference.

Thanks I was thinking of using one on a 450 rigby. Which would hopefully really reduce the recoil. Which brand did you use.

I used one for my .338wm and I think it made it worse. So now I am going to fit a muzzel break to it. Hopefully that works.

I have one in a 375 and it helps a bit. It is in 1 of 3 identicle rifles and there is a noticeable difference between them. It isn't a massive difference IMO but its there.

I have heard that if it's not installed correctly it makes the recoil worse. I think stock design also plays a big role.

I installed one in my 338wm, I can not feel any difference. It does now make a sloshing sound when I move the gun around. I will be removing it.

@ KD83, be careful with a muzzel break, it is bad for the people around you, a hideous device on the range....
