- I have the large TDI with plain edge and find the grip angle very natural
- I sharpen the edge @ a 25 degree angle which the blade seems to hold quite well and gives a very sharp cutting edge
Some of it's cons IMHO:
- being a fixed blade it is more difficult to conceal so I only wear it when I am wearing a sleeveless jacket or some other concealment jacket.
- I did not like the sheath that came with the knife but Geoff Carter made me an excellent Kydex sheath with belt clip that works great for my purposes. The OEM sheath with fasteners works well on a MOLLE type vest and I use mine on my hunting gear.
- The black coating can chip off with rough usage but seeing as my knives are tools it is not a big issue for me.
Would I recommend this knife? Definitely!
Is this the ultimate EDC knife? Probably not.
Does it work for me? Hell yes! and at around R600 from Sharp Edge in Sandton it is not too expensive to try out.
If you are in the JHB/PTA areas send me a PM and we can get together so you can look and see how I use stand make up your own mind.

Great firearm retention blade!
Looks like I need to talk to Geoff about new sheath...

Re: Ka-Bar TDI Law-Enforcement
I prefer the smaller model because it hides better but Bry and...I imagine KK20...have the larger one, as does IIRC Geoff. They're both great little blades, especially for the money.
Ol' Geoff made me the slickest little scabbard / holster for mine you ever did see, and it has made all the difference in my actually using it over the years.Run Fast, Bite Hard!

Its a great back up blade. I carry mine 90% of the time. The small one will do some harm but IMO its great at slashing, a bit short for the thrust

Re: Ka-Bar TDI Law-Enforcement
@Rudes - We only have our extra belly blubber to blame for lack of concealment :)
I am an avid fan of Geoff's work but am very impressed with the standard clip sheath I got my TDI with.
It is great to access and that is 70% (IMO) of a knife fight.
[I know I'm gonna get slack for this....but anyway:] After I picked mine up I did a shoot with it set up at 11:00 (I am right handed) to see if it would interfere or get in the way under stress. I got to the 1st stage needing a mag change and I found myself with my brand spanking new TDI in hand. Thankfully I could easily stow it and go for my "actual mag" and the SO never even knew :)

Re: Ka-Bar TDI Law-Enforcement
Are we talking about the same sheath and loop fasteners? Below are pictures of the sheath and loop fasteners my TDI came with. I don't have pictures of my current sheath and clip but the 3rd picture shows more or less how my current sheath and clip looks and fits. The loop fasteners do not allow for proper horizontal carry which is what I prefer.
