Opinions on the CRKT Fire Spark
Hey Guys
Looking for an EDC knive, mostly for SD. The Fire Spark on SharpEdge caught my eye, also has a sweet price tag!
Any personal experience or general thoughts?
Suggested alternatives at a similar price point?
Cheers

Re: Opinions on the CRKT Fire Spark
its a cool-looking blade,but i wouldn't carry any CRKT liner-lock for sd.
you'll b better off buying a Benchmade griptillian,which isn't as cheap,doesn't look as good,but is a hell of a lot better made.
and before anyone jumps on me about CRKT folders,i've been through the mill with them, but don't take my word, ask Mark Human about the 15 stitches he needed on the back of his hand.

How about a Byrd Cara Cara , or a Meadowlark? Pretty much the same steel and price range, and features a lockback instead of a liner lock.

Re: Opinions on the CRKT Fire Spark
Ya,you'll b better off with a lockback.I haven't looked at them in a while, but the Spydrco Delica and Endura used to be decently priced.
I also like the Kershaw Junkyard Dog (the large model),but this is limited to flipper opening, however, with a little parctice, you can deploy fast, with a "wrist snap".
Btw,I'm not against liner locks, just that the knife has to has thick liners, imo, for sd use.
Many custom knifmakers also use thin titanium liners, and while this is fine for collector-grade blades, won't last long if you "knifesturbate".

Re: Opinions on the CRKT Fire Spark
Thanks for all the replies, looks like there is a lot more to knives than I thought. Going to have a closer look at what has been suggested.
Could you'll give me a quick rundown on what to look for when choosing a knife.
(Plain/Serrated, Tanto/Spear Point etc.)
Will be using it temporarily while waiting for my SD license and then minimal daily tasks .
Want it more as a deterrent, as I only have some basic know-how on using a knife in an SD situation.
