Re: This why I prefer rifle hunting to bow hunting
Years ago my younger brother bought this scent liquid that was supposed to attract deer. It was the scent a doe gives off when she is ready to mate.
He wanted to make a scent trail that went in front of his hunting area so he spayed it on the bottom of his boots so he could walk the trail.
I ask him " what happens when that randy buck deer with big antlers starts following that scent and tracks you back to your brush blind? "
He is going to do to you what he does to the doe.
he took those boots off real quick. He took them way away from our hunting area and left them. He hunted barefoot the rest of the day.
He was 14 back in 1976, he has gotten a lot smarter since then.

Re: This why I prefer rifle hunting to bow hunting
I dont think that clip has anything to do with bow hunting or rifle hunting or which is better. I think that has to do with being able to tell a very good story to the grandkids (if he made it out alive) about safety and responsibility whilst out hunting. A story that I am sure any hunter would be proud of experiencing (maybe not) and sharing. On non dangerous game thats as deadly an experience as youre likely to have and being able to share it with others must be awesome, and humbling at the same time. On a fair hunt, the deer won this one and I am sure the hunter cant wait for next year to tackle this deer again.

That is where you need a sidearm as a back-up or at least a huge knife or the balls to grab the "bull" by it's horns

You should be able to use this as motivation for a SD firearm.
