Re: Blue Wildebeest - good to eat?
If you get a young one it will be good, I had some last night in a curry. For braaiing, as allready mentioned, don't overcook.
Good hunting and good eating!

Re: Blue Wildebeest - good to eat?
-BWB mince: Venison Bobotie!!! or Lasagne, or anything mince related.
-Wors
-Patties
-Fillets!!!! please ask your butcher to remove them for you, keep them, braai them, use them for black mushroom and olive pasta etc.. Wrap them in foil with garlic and onions with some olive oil on the fire....
-Sirloin: Ask your butcher to remove one of the sirloins for you, you can cut it in steaks yourself or make stirfry from it.
NOW im damn hungry
Don't we love gunsite, lots of people willing to help out!

Re: Blue Wildebeest - good to eat?
I personally rank Blue Wildebeest on the same level as Kudu and Eland. Excellent for biltong and dry/braai wors.

Re: Blue Wildebeest - good to eat?
Okay - so we just got back and I am pleased to report the the BWB is hanging in the coldroom. My 15yr old son beat me at Ching Chong Cha so he got to shoot. we used my .270 with 130gr Barnes X bullets and at just over 100m the bullets passed clean through and the animal went down very quickly indeed. We also got 2 Blesbuck and a Lynx - brilliant day! Photos later when I work out how to post them again.
