My costs for competency came to R1800.00 (R300 per module) for law/handgun/shotgun/ manual & slr,and ml.I went outside my hometown(PE),best quote "locally" was R1995 (excl ml) for everything + add a little fuel to the total to the neighbouring town.Other guys were way more...(off course add "savings",ie id pics, saps admin fee,etc as a once off)

Needless to say my gf followed the same route as me.

Sorry I've taken so long to get back to you guys, our router was hit by lightning and I've only got it sorted out now! The pics i promised you guys are below!

I finally got out to convert some powder into smoke today. And wow, what a good day! Although it is quite possibly the dirtiest thing I have ever done! I thought the loading between shots would be frustrating, but as it turns out it is rather enjoyable.

The trigger is this guns sticking point, thats for sure. It is angled too far forward so your trigger finger tends to rest on the lower surface of the receiver, which isn't ideal. It is also only a single stage design, which is unfortunate. That said, it does break very cleanly!

Accuracy was not up to par, although the scope kept working itself loose so that may be it. A bit of locktite later, I'm hoping the problem is solved! Does anyone have experience with loads for 1/28 twist barrels that I can use as a starting point? The guy i was with was shooting round ball accurately out of a 1/24 twist barrel with 80 grains of Sannadex rifle, which I am told is unusual?

    My 1/28 inline likes 370gr Maxi with 85gr SDX-P or a 510gr bullet (from flintandmusket) with 90gr SDX-P. 1" at 100m.

Klein Chris, I've heard alot of good things about the 370gr Maxi. I'll be sure to get my hands on some and give them a try.

Thanks Errol! I'm very proud of my new baby, that's for sure!

Has any one use harverster crush rib sabots with .454 Casulls for hunting? I have .50 T/C Impact and get good groupings on 80m open sitghts with 90gr per volume SDX multi grade. Have no idea if it wil be enough for a Blackwildebeast at that distance. Some advice please?

Arent the casulls thin copper jacket bullets? Rather get the hornady Xtp .44 300gr hp and put it in the Harvester .44 sabbot for hunting purposes.
