I apologise profusely beforehand, but for our international members your comment, together with your profile name is very ironic. Sorry. :-P ;-) :-X

Ok, had my first follow-up with the doc since the surgery.

Initially the doc expressed concern about the possibility that part of my ring-finger may prove to be 'dead'. Luckily, it seems that this is not the case. Looks like the finger has 'taken', so no new surgeries envisioned for my foreseeable future.

I over-estimated the extent of the damage it seems. (pessimistic?). I still have some finger left on my middle finger above the middle knuckle, so all in all, about 50% of that finger is still there ('stump' is at a weird angle though, not 'square'). Only the very tip (nail carrier) on my ring finger was removed, so have about 90% of that finger still. Extensive flesh damage to the pad of my thumb, but at least it is all still there.

Must sat, the doc did good work. I am impressed with his skills (considering the circumstances, and what he had to work with).

Wife took some pics today during the check-up, so will try and post some pics for our less squirmish viewers a bit later.

    Regards,
    Stumpy
