    Default NEA Backup Parts

So based on the AR platform what is the typical backup parts one would keep in your bag as backup to keep your gun running at all times?

Then which of those parts are readily available from our local dealers for the NEA and what should be ordered from overseas?

Great article with much insight as to what breaks and what doesn't in high round count classes...from Pat Rogers...

Bottom line, think MEAL...magazines, extractor and springs, ammo...GOOD ammo, lubrication...generous lubrication and IMO Slip2000 is the best available at the moment.

Add bolt gas rings - replace at approximately 5- 7k rounds or when needed.

To check if it needs replacing: remove the BCG from the rifle - with the bolt extended forward in the carrier stand the BCG on the bolt face - if the carrier is kept in position and does not "sag" or gravitate down it means the rings are stil gtg.

WE have the small parts like springs, pins, plungers, mag catches etc in stock.

You should not need those as default parts but we keep them in case..

I suggest you buy a complete bolt (when we get them) as backup - it is a quick change to replace the bolt and it covers the extractor, ejector, gas rings and obviously the bolt itself.
