What's your favourite .22 ammo?
Guys what is your favourite .22 ammo?
(Please don't say swartklip unless you want to donate some to me:)
I am eagerly anticipating collecting my BRNO Mk2 after scope fit and would like to hear your thoughts.
I do not have a silencer fitted in case that makes a difference to your comments.
Purpose is hunting guineas and the occasional spurwing and rabbit, if the opportunity presents itself.

Highland, never had any problems with the ammo. And they are reasonably priced. and available at my local gun shop.

Re: What's your favourite .22 ammo?
I've had a good grouping size and functionality with CCI Stinger, and weel as CCI Subsonic Hollow points in all three my 22's.
Winchester did not group at all (wildcat I think)
Highhland subsonics jam in my AM180, and causes it to go full auto for anything from 20 - 50 rounds, before it jams. Works great in my bolt action CBC.
Highland high velocity's are ok, but I also get about 1 out of 5 rounds which goes two or three shots with a single trigger press on my AM180. Also works well in my CBC bolt action.
Remington Cyclone are GREAT!! Cycles like a charm, and is very accurate.
Remington thunderbolts I've had a failure in my bolt action CBC (about 3 bullets out of 50)
Firearms:
Star HK Lancer .22lr pistol
CBC Bolt action .22lr
AM180 semi-auto

Swaaaaeeeh, erm, whatever I can afford.
My rifle likes S&B, but likes the batch I got from Parow A&A more than the batch I got from City Guns.
My Llama pistol likes high velocity.
But for competition handgunning I shoot that stuff I'm not allowed to mention.

Re: What's your favourite .22 ammo?
Wthang, taking into consideration why you're asking, that's an unfair question to ask. It's like asking "Do you think these jeans make my arse look fat?". There is no right answer. YOUR .22 rifle will determine what's the best for you. Not what others use or think is best. Consistency with .22 ammo is like rocking horse shit.
Here's what I suggest. Buy a box of each (that's available locally) and range-test them on a quite day. .22 Rifles are funny that way. What may work in one is horrid in another. There is no other way.

When I first got my licence I bought 100 CCI SV, when those were finished I bought a brick of Remington Thunderbolt.
Both perform well in my Anschutz.

Re: What's your favourite .22 ammo?
Some feedback - I tried Remington subsonic, S&B high velocity and Swartklip match grade standard velocity.
Tightest grouping best to worse: Swartklip, Remington and S&B (though S&B was still less than an inch at 50m)
