I would suggest asking an admin to get hold of swartkobus directly via email due to the current email notification issue experienced by the forums.

Can't we again offer to run the place for them? I'll do it for a very reasonable salary (provided I can stay in Cape Town) and will man-alone (with some intelligent application of technology) probably get through more than the whole lot of them. A small group of us will be very efficient.

    Simple, finish and klaar!

Anything other than this is just confused misunderstanding perpetuated as a vain attempt to excuse inefficiency.
After refusing my app the first time around for failing to provide proof of dss on a S13 (apparently a requirement since I already have 3 handguns), they approved the reapplication in about 7.5 weeks. Tomorrow will be 6 weeks since approval and I still don't have the card.

Interesting how the 3 months / 12 weeks / 90 days has since changed to 90 "working days" as per the submissions to parliament.

And then they are seemingly not always working on any days?
Someone seems to have posted the wording elsewhere, not sure if GS was the source, maybe worth trying to contact this poster too?

phone provincial, speak to capt burger.
ask her if the card has been printed, or not.

if not, she could perhaps inquire why it hasnt.
if yes, she could perhaps shit on your DFO's head.

I've been in contact with the provincial printing office over the past 2 or 3 weeks and know that this entire card saga has been a comedy of errors.

Firstly they printed the card at CFR on 5 August (approved 24 July). It never got here. When I eventually got provincial to request a reprint on 26 August, that request was sent back to CFR on 1 September.

I'll check back with provincial again today for a status update.

Have had communications with swartkobus, he is still looking for the relevant letter, has been a while now since 2012. So if anyone can assist further with this, please pm me. Way back when the FCA was introduced CFR claimed that they were overburdened, and despite that then in 2012 committed to these time lines themselves. There should therefore be no excuse to at this point move a step back from that position. Thanks

Hi Guys, is there any way to actually find out where your application is?

My application for a rifle went in the middle July (14) 2015, same time as my competency renewal.
Competency went to DFO on 22 July, and CRF on 13 August 2015 (As per SMS).
Licence SMS just said, receiving attention at CRF 12 August(As per SMS).
Now what? Would really like to get going on this, but am tired of treading water, not knowing what is happening.
    Thanks for an interesting thread.
    J
