Default Re: AR 15 "SHORT STROKING"

Thanks Khumba, I was really just trying to ascertain whether the engagement problems with the old triggers was indicative of short stroking or if it would lead you to look at other things instead of the gas seals and gas key. As you mentioned the surface angles I'll assume not but the suggestion that it was only taking place with soft loads was what led me to believe these might be related.

Thanks for pointing out the eject/extract difference. Always thought of them as meaning the same thing, but of course they are quite different.

Can anyone tell me if the NEAs have polymer inserts with the extractor springs and if so what colour they are?

I have seen one without and the rifle worked fine.

I have seen one with a black insert.

    I did not check others.

Imo it is worth it to check your extractor set up and inexpensive to upgrade.

I have kits with a very good quality extra power spring, polymer insert and o-ring = R75 afaik. These are not Hailstorm stock so its not on the online store.

To get a kit contact Duncan on 012 754 0777 weekdays 2 - 6pm. He does not know yet I have them but I will inform him today.
