You will lose speed of 80-100 fps and maybe end up with rifle that will handle better in thick bush. Accuracy could improve or stay the same - there is no guarantee.

I have a 22" barrel on my mod700 remington and she handles like a beauty! Average loss of 92fps on factory rounds as compaired to a friends brno(cz), which is irrelevant shooting less than 200m. I've found on factory rounds there is less meat damage due to slower impact speed! Hope it helps!

I already shortend the butt, so an exstra 2" on the barrel will make a difference ( heng die taal is moeilik ).

    As per CZ :Stephan,

As far as negative effects, as long as it’s done properly there should be none. The crown will be important to get right, and if you have a banded front sight it might not be big enough in stock form to go back on the thicker portion of the barrel farther down. It might have to be cut and a piece soldered in to make it larger.

Other than that, you’d lose maybe 100 feet per second, which isn’t a huge deal for close-quarters work.

    Thanks!

The crown is the biggest issue here.

You sound like a tall/big guy, so the added recoil of the shorter barrel should not bother, but sure, the rifle will we shorter and lighter (what the -2" can contribute). Accuracy should not be an issue on 200m or even 250m. It's the velocity loss that will cause more bullet drop that will influence the accuracy.

Ja, a full 1.71m, the velocity wont bother. I'm reloading, 51 gr of S365 at this stage, the max is 53 gr. Velocity at this stage 2630.

I'm just bothered about the recoil, eish! I fired a standard CZ550 in .30-06 and the recoil was not comfortable for me. Had a nasty muzzle flip. Also fired a smithed and pimped .303Br with a synt stock and 19.25" barrel. Bloody hell!! It just kicked like a mule No fun, If you have to sight it in properly it could take days!
