    Default Double barrel AR

    http://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2...5-from-israel/

Silver Shadow has officially unveiled the double barreled AR-15 I blogged about last month. The Gilboa Snake has two barrels that are fired simultaneously, essentially double tapping on a single trigger pull. It will be available in both semi-automatic (two rounds per trigger pull) or full auto. The rifle, with its two 9.5" barrels, weighs 9.4 lbs.

Really? I'd have thought it'd make a great HD weapon, with being able to promptly put two rounds into a home invader without having to re-aim.

Mostly though, I'd really like to see how they got it to work and be able to shoot one. I don't think I'd pay money for one though ;)

Tickle your trigger to get two, three or seven rounds into a threat. I know sometimes stuff like this is just a 'tour-de-force' but it takes away from practical learning IMO.

Fighting is not the same as shooting...they are worlds apart...and sure as Hell, two rounds from a bulky, heavy and likely unreliable fun gun is not going to be of much help compared to proper marksmanship, manipulation, mindset and tactics.

That, of course, does not mean no one should ever want or own one, just that they should never be under the serious impression that it is any sort of practical tool.

2 shots with 1 pull of the trigger? isn't that at odds with the legal definition of a semi auto?

Very interesting observation, haven't even thought about that.
