Re: 270WSM ---- versus my 270win
A mate of mine has just built a .270 Super Tombi. I think its basically a 280AI necked down to .270. That would give you the extra ft/sec, you can fire form your old cases and have something cool to talk about.

Re: 270WSM ---- versus my 270win
Well - its 8 years later and the .270 Win needsto be re-chambered, I have shot more than 7 mm of the throat out.
That thought arises again to improve or not too!

Re: 270WSM ---- versus my 270win
I have a 270 Lott aka WSM waiting for licencing.
Had a scare last weekend when the dealer was broken into, I was told the firearms were all gone.
After 2 days in the veld kicking every Bush I walked past, and being careful not to step on my bottom lip that was dragging, I received the news that the rifles were left and only the handguns stolen.
Now I know the 270Win works perfectly fine, just as the 458WM works perfectly fine. But I wanted something a little more....
I reload for all my rifles, so I am not worried about finding ammo. And the costs of the extra powder is marginalA roaring Lion kills no game
