Default Starting a new Sadpa club. Advice pls.

I'm thinking of starting a new club, but need some advice regarding the range. Does the range need to be SABS accredited? We have a very nice local military range, but is not currently SABS accredited. AS I understand, the range only need to be accredited when using the range for training purposes?

Mossberg will find out for you, think it might be a requirement from our insurance provider.
Tell us more about the range traditional military range? One big back stop?
Any U shaped pistol bays, how tall are the side berms etc?

Thanks Glock Goblin. It's a traditional military range with big backstop and an even bigger mountain hill behind that. There is currently one U shape pistol bay, but a lot of room for more bays. Side berms are 2 - 2.5m, will check exact height.

I wish I could start a club here because the nearest club from us is 120km. The problem here is that there isn't a decent pistol range to start off with and the SANDF kicked all civilians off theirs.

To be in accordance with the SADPA insurers the range has to be accredited.

Thanks for the info Ross. Can't say that it's good news for us :-(. I'll have to make another plan, because we have to travel 260km each month just for a club shoot. We end up paying our yearly club fees every month in fuel money. Where can I get info our the cost of the accreditation and requirement?
