Advice needed...

Hi Guys… Not sure if I posted in the right category, but here it goes…
I don’t want to open a can of worms, but I need some honest advice. I currently have a G23, but find it difficult to get used to the gun. I used to shoot IDPA with a USP .40, but a friend convinced me to sell the USP to him. After selling him the USP, I waited 3years for the G23 license, and only then realized that I am not such a gr8 shot with it. Don’t get me wrong, it is an awesome pistol, but my skill level is lacking. I want to start IDPA shooting again. But want an ultra reliable firearm, which works with me. I was thinking of getting a USP again, or maybe the P30… Any suggestions… I shoot better with a single action trigger, and am open to suggestions… I also want to change to 9mm, as my wife has a G26 and I want to standardize ammo…

If your choice is a USP or P30 I would have a P30 in a heart beat, it just feels great in the hand.

Sorry... I didn't specify... the USP .40, was a compact, so it is similar in size to the G23... I believe is more the trigger...

I phoned around, and can only get a P30L at the moment... I was told that new stock will only be arriving at the end of the year... and I think the L might be a bit too big... I will pop around to have a look at one on Saturday, as I haven't yet seen or felt it yet...

How about trying a lighter trigger in the Glock? or maybe polished etc?

Might be a much cheaper solution if thats the only problem.

I still think you should work with the G23 a bit...

Took me a while to get used to the trigger on the Glock as well... mostly sorted now (Yes... I keep telling myself that )

I am not too sure what the IDPA rule book says about different triggers and such... but it might be an option to explore... defenately more cost effective... I have a guy who wants to buy the G23 for R6k, but I will need to fork out another R5K - R6K to "upgrade" to a USP or P30...
