New license - what is the latest average turnaround time?

Harm as a matter of interest my business sells materials that have been used for knife handles for years.

Red Fibre (a tough resiliant vegetable fibre board used in 0.8mm). Often used between the steel and the handle material. Heard spomeone once say it is like lipstick on on a woman, it adds the finishing touch and is cheap.

Yeah now I'm really sad. Handed in my SD App at the local DFO(Silverton) 24 July, phoned the CFR Call centre on Thursday (16 August) , they say it's still at the DFO. Phoned the DFO they say it been sent. So almost a month later and I can't track it. So now I've no idea what to do next...

And you all know how bad the wait is.

Phone your DFO and make sure he has updated the system so that it shows he sent it to CFR. That was the problem I had with one of my apps, DFO hadn't done the update, so CFR won't work on the app even if they have it.

Thanks, will do so tomorrow. With my current work related conditions I have maybe 30 minutes during business hours to sort everything out, so all the help in pointing me in the right direction is much appreciated.

Submitted my application for SD on the 28-06-2013 got sms that it is receiving attention. i contacted the CFR and they informed me that they have received the application. Holding thumbs on the progress. What is the basic/acceptable turn around time for a competency to be approved.( considering i don't have any criminal record)?

Exactly 3 weeks from the time my apps hit CFR. That was 3 apps, one of which was an SLR!

4 June 2019 - Application submitted S16

23 Sept 2019 - SMS received application approved. Thats approx 107 days

16 October 2019 - Collected the card. Thats approx 23 days

License approved 3 months + 1 month for card. SAPS was contactable, and the DFO professional.

Mine was 3 months till approval. Can't get through to find out where the card is currently.

My license approval took 4 months. Approval SMS received on 8/10/2019. Awaiting the news that I can collect the card
