Re: New license - what is the latest average turnaround time?
You guys are lucky..
I am at 110 working days. Submitted at the start of May. It has been under consideration since day 90 now. Just the usual response when you phone.
I have asked GOSA for assistance but don't get any feedback from them. I once asked and was told they phoned once and will send a complaint email. Not more than what I am doing myself anyway..
FRUSTRATING!

GOSA can't really do much either. I suggest you send complaint emails to the email they quote, over and over again.

Re: New license - what is the latest average turnaround time?
If you lucky and you phone you ask to speak to that province Department. On occasion a friendly person would put you through. Sometimes the person who has to do final approval is on leave or on training or inspections. Then it gets delayed.
Sometimes your app is just on a staff members table who has to take it in for signature. And they are on leave or ill. Or your app strays at bottom of pile.
i always thought that when you app goes to provincial. They put in box to ship to CFR. So you apply first. Your app goes first in box and at bottom. Last guy in box will be on top. Comes to CFR. They open box and last guy is on top and gets worked on first.

Or they're just a hopeless bunch who could care less about doing their jobs in an acceptable manner...
Sorry to be the cynic, but 90+ days seems to be the norm for many of us...
(And yes I'm a GOSA member)

Re: New license - what is the latest average turnaround time?
The policy says 90 days total time
CFR says 90 working days total time
In reality who knows, as it varies from well in 90 days to well over 90 working days.

Maybe the spamming worked, who knows.
Licence approved after 118 working days.

I am keeping track for myself using the thread on here (http://www.gunsite.co.za/forums/show...a-base/page101)
using the last 10 entries that were completed, the current time sits on 69 work days, calculated from the moment that DFO sms was received to the moment the Approved sms is received.
