Comments in threads!!!
Hi, I find it very annoying that there are a lot of comments, most unnecessary, in the "for sale" theads. I mean really, if you want to chat, chat away in the appropriate threads, and I think unless you are really going to purchase item, please dont ooohh and aaah and how you would sell your kidneys and all kinds of crap, there are threads set up for those of you just filling cyberspace with nonsense. My two cents. Make of it what you will. Thanks.

I find it annoying when people post threads about how annoyed they are on the internet...
But seriously, guys are just expressing how much they like a product, sort of like window shopping...in my opinion the OP of the thread can ask guys to refrain from comment if he feels so strong about it

Re: Comments in threads!!!
On the one hand you have a point, on the other if no-one comments on the post then it will not feature in the 'new posts' sections and then unless someone goes to the 'for sale' thread you are not going to get any publicity

Re: Comments in threads!!!
Yeah Guys, I appreciate all your view points, but I still am irate. Remember, this should be a respectable "Forum" for discussion, not a "chat room", that is probably why we have the different topics and threads available for those type of comments, etc. For example, in the "LM" thread for sale, there are probably only three comments relevant, the rest is just............. adding no real value for the seller. Thanks for allowing me to express my view on this.

Re: Comments in threads!!!
This has been discussed before, innocent banter is what makes this site what it is, if the OP of the thread doesnt want commentary he can request it as such or request that the the thread be closed immediately, his choice. And yes the kidney comment was mine, but the OP of that thread didnt seem to mind so, if you have a problem with it feel free to take it up with me personally, or, dont read the posts that follow?

Re: Comments in threads!!!
Actually, whether the OP or sumoebody else does(nt) like comments, its the sellers that are more in a position to comment me thinks.A little hype can go a long way to facilitate a quick sale>I see no harm if 10 of us comment on how much we'd like to buy that lm,and what a perceived bargain it is,it does create a bit of urgency for a prospective buyer,ie happy seller...
We are lucky that the site owners indulge that section anyway,as that is what "gunbroker" is supposed to be about
