Burris Scopes
I'm keen to hear your thoughts on Burris scopes... Got my eye on a 4.5-14x42.
Thanks!

Re: Burris Scopes
Hi Marshie. I have the Burris Fullfield E1 in 4.5 - 14 x 42. I have it on my Tikka T3 .308, and I am very happy with it. One gets top quality for the good prices that these and the Redfields sell for. It took me a couple of shots to get used to the floating recticle, but after you get used to it, its shoots superbly and super accurately.
The ballistix plex recticle is great, but I'm battling to actually use the hold over points on 200 and 300 meters as they are measured off in Feet. One gets all the ballistic information along with the scope on little stickers for most cartridges with bullet drops, But as I say, unless your targets are measured off in feet and/or you practice your shots with a range finder set in feet, for hunting purposes, this all means nothing!
All in all I'm very happy with this scope and want to buy a higher power with Mill dot recticle!

Marshie. Don't have one myself, but my brother has and we spend a lot of shooting time together so I think I can comment. It is a 3-9 X 42 on a 30-06 ZASTAVA. Fitted in 2000 and has seen a lot of hunting, travelling and range work. It has never been adjusted eversince. They are great.

Re: Burris Scopes
Bought one of a friend, he replaced his with a Leupold...he might still like the Burris more. I'm getting one in 4.5-12 x 42 with the September paycheck.

Re: Burris Scopes
You'd have to be a real expert too see the difference between a Burris FF2 and a Leupold VX3. The Leopold may have some nice features, but worth double the price, I don't think so. Not for the average hunter.

Re: Burris Scopes
VLT Arms in Pretoria by far have the best prices on these scopes... Not online though, but definitely the cheapest.
