    Default Always shooting low

So suddenly my wife wants to get into pistol shooting. Not that I complain at all. I started off with basics and with her reading through the competency training books. Then some more on gun safety and some dry firing.

The firts shots taken was with my mothers Star .25ACP. She shot way too low, but thet Stars has got awfull sights and are really small.

Next was a STAR .22. All shots always kept going way too low. Then we tried a ASTRA A-100 9mmP. Again she shoots very low. Even at 2 meters she is about 6 inches below target centre. She is certain that her sight picture is correct and she uses the correct stance and grip as far as I know. The same as I do and I shoot dead centre. Today she tried my Glock 19. Again from even 2 meters she hits too low. At 5 meters she constantly shoots beneath an upright A4 target in a nice group, but always low.

I am now fed up with the situation and she too. What are we doing wrong? How the heck can she keep on shooting low even if she aims high. She is not jerking the trigger and not closing her eys before the shot. Please help. The next step is to get another (read Professional) trainer.

Low usually means anticipating the recoil, are you very she doesn't do that?

Does she line the sights up correctly? Maybe draw her a picture of how she should be aiming, it happens. Does she know that she should fill the back sight using the front sight? It may be because she tries to line the target up with the back sight instead of lining up both sights.

    +1. Sounds like snatching.

Skaaphaas, I even recorded her on a video camera and replayed in slow motion. If she does it I cannot see it. I have her shooting the Glock without knowing the status and then it was empty, and even then I couldn't see movement to try and fight recoil.

Have drawn plenty of pictures. Not the problem.

Is she shooting with both eyes open? Is she using her dominant eye to aim?

I know with rifles the same rifle can shoot to different point of impact for different shooters due to shooting style/technique.
