Michael's Machines HK11 conversion. [semi-auto] Uses a US made receiver, and HK-21 parts.

Looks a lot like a G3. I had the chance to shoot a whole day with a G3. Some body high up thought it would be good for us to have a feel of a G3. We where doing COIN training and firing live ammo. Very few worked flawlessly, the block would jam when the rifle was hot, doppies would stick out like chimneys as the rifle got hot. The high spot where the front sight is mounted would bump the bone under the eye.

Must have been pretty well used-up. We put 1000rnds thu mine one afternoon[full-auto], and it never hic-cup'd. With the 21 quick-change barrel set-up, it was very stable and accurate.

The G3's we used where acquired in an action, so where 2nd or even 3rd hand who knows. Yes the most of them where beaten up.

In dedication to the cops who stood their ground (more or less) at the mine when 3000 mine workers stormed their line, I think its only fitting the firearm of the week should be their R5s that saved their lives.

Hear, hear. I also love that gun. Was taught to do so, even if it was the bigger brother the R4
