JS4, it's an improvement in the sense that the Police station was able to get it to the CFR in a week's time. Like I said in one of my post, last time I applied for a license it took more than a month for them to receive and start working on it and that was last year! I didn't get an sms either...

I handed an app in this morning , hour later I got an SMS saying my application is being attended to by my DFO . Certainly much better than my previous app,

With this said ig for sure depends on the station

OK, so it would seem as if I spoke to soon. My wife's competency was approved two days ago, two months after it was handed in. Not that big of an improvement IMO. Her application was in Bloemfontein for almost 5 weeks before it was sent to Pretoria! Apparently they sent the update sms's while it was there but they do not do anything to the application, the just record it as sent and send it off! That sucks! Now for the lisence, hoping it will come through faster, I just sent my new application in as well, hoping it will not lie in Bloemfontein for another month.

My dfo lets you make an apointmemt to see her. Then se captures the info as you sit. I got my sms while stil at the cop shop.

Handed my app in almost 5 weeks ago and only got an sms on Tues that DFO is looking at it?

Big Jake, my wife got that sms one week after handing in her application but the application itself took two months to complete. Hopefully your will be sorted out sooner!
