Re: Political assasinations and the "party"
No-one has yet been able to explain to me what it is that makes an impoverished voter put their x next to the name of a party who does their succession management by assassination. I'm sure there are reasons that make sense in some convoluted Mantashed up way but i haven't been able to get it yet.

Re: Political assasinations and the "party"
Sounds about right. In other words a bunch of hocus pocus bullshit that results in predictable governance outcomes. I'm becoming more and more convinced that SA is doomed to hit rock bottom. Just like a crack addict, the electorate probably won't make a connection between their actions and the outcomes achieved before its way too late to correct course.

So... in this light, and just in case someone is thinking that we're beating on the ANC (particularly)... and in remembrance of a literary and philosophical great who departed this orb a few days ago... I advise you all to read Parliament Of Whores and All The Trouble In The World by PJ O'Rourke.

Machiavelli (1469 - 1527) predates Hanlon by centuries. So does Bonaparte.
Simple modification substituting self-interest with stupidity, I assume.

Re: Political assasinations and the "party"
I tried to work with that one but it didn't wash out for me. Pretty basic organisms are able to modify their behaviour based on their sensory feedback so it has to be something more active that just being passively stupid.
If you live in a underdeveloped and underserviced area and there's been no improvement in your situation over three or four election cycles and you continue to vote for the people in the X5's who swan by every now and then there must surely be some incentive or reward for doing that and i cant make sense of it.
