Hatsan is a Turkish made Air Rifle and imported by African Hunting Supplies (I think they had a slight name change recently). It is a 1000FPS rifle and if the original owner bought it in 'package' format it would have soething like a Nikko Sterling Airking scope on. Very roughly made rifles and the scope mount that is supplied with the Nikko Sterling is not the best. These combo packages was going quite cheap about 18 months or so ago and it is not a high end rifle. As you mention it is a Mod 70 and the last time I was involved with these rifles the newer models was the Mod 80 and 85 (which is basically a mod 70 with different stock)

How much does he want for the rifle and how old is the rifle?

I do not know the Ags Scope and can't comment on it. The rifle is harsh on scopes and on itself.

About 18 month ago these rifles in the combo pack with the Nikko Sterling Scope was selling for about R1,700.00 new. I am out of touch with current prices but I also do not regard the Hatsan as a 'life long' purchase. Not being sure about the Ags scope and how old the rifle is and how much if was used, it would be difficult to say.

I know that the Hatsan's became quite expensive recently with no apparent reason compared to the Gamo but I personally would not offer more than about R750.00 for the rifle. I may be off track but this is how I view them from a second hand perspective (and the workmanship on them)
