Gosh, these places aren't exactly close.
When I did my comp shoot on Thursday it was at a range directly opposite Swartkops raceway, is that open for public use?

Yes, called swat range and you do get membership there. If your willing to travel that far you might as well go all the way to PDPC, which is one of the best ranges, if not the best, in SA

Ah, yes, I have been to that sight?
I'm in Fourways, so it seems moer far, but I suppose not much further in reality.
If it is that good, I'll pop in there at least once.

Indoor only...

A bit dark... not my first choice.

But since it is so close to me, does see me on a semi-regular basis...

P.S.

SWAT seems like a good choice (not TOO far from fourways) if you just looking purely for range time.

Joining a club though, is first prize (since one can generally use the clubs range during times other than club shoots as well)... and shooting in club events gets you going with DSS status.
