Re: New interest in muzzle loading
Anything specially required to clean a muzzle loader? And why type of anti-seize grease do you use?

Re: New interest in muzzle loading
Cleaning, well youre not having copper fouling so just a carbon remover like Hoppes and youre done. Just make sure it gets oiled well as they like to rust. Im using wynns copper anti seize or something like that. There are a couple of different brands I guess. Its the stuff you use on the bolts around a car's manifold where theres lots of heat. Dont fool yourself with the quick release breachplugs, after about 15-20 shots it dont come loose so easily and you will need pliers to get it going. A trick to remember is to loosen the breachplug after every say 5 shots and retighten.

O yes I forgot look at the Lyman Mustang. Never handled one but with the Lyman name I think quality wise will be better then other inlines. I like that it cocks on closing the action just like a shotgun. Theres one for sale on junkmail right now!
