No. Just not an English 1st or 2nd language speaker, I guess. The meaning is there but the grammar seems to come from a different language.

Re: Evidence of dogs pointers
Evidently, it's a very bad idea to entertain dogs using a laser pointer!
Not knowing this a couple of years back, I pointed a laser on the carpet and made my Jack Russel chase it, it was very amusing.
After putting away the laser my dog kept on patrolling the carpet in search of the dot for about two hours.
I am afraid this made my dog get OCD, she now patrols around sniffing everywhere for a couple of minutes after seeing a torch, shadows or even just a click as made by the laser pointer button.
A better idea would be to get a lunge whip and tie a toy to the end and drag it around, they love chasing that too, and when you're done playing, you can untie the toy and let the dog chew on it, this way the dog doesn't feel the need to search for it afterwards eliminating the OCD effect.

Re: Evidence of dogs pointers
While I cannot speak from direct experience in SA, my guess is that, like most places, IF a court will accept a dogs alert as evidence in a case, the training records and past performance of both the dog and handler will have to be qualified or stipulated to first.
I also have not seen or heard of SA courts allowing some of the Canine ID 'lineups' and other things that many European courts have.
Is that what you are asking? Coz this is in the Sporting Dog section, after all...Run Fast, Bite Hard!
