I am looking for plans to build my own bench rest for shooting.
this will be to use on a table or bench at a shooting range.

Re: DIY bench rest
I made a square tubing frame and stuck a car scissor jack on the front with a metal U shape to hold the forend and a height adjustable pillar with a V on the back to hold the stock.
Its awesome for zeroing a scope, the rifle doesn't move and the only cost was the jack.

I saw one exactly like that on Saturday at the Durbanville shooting range. They guy used a small blue scissor jack on the front standing inside a U metal tube for stability up front and an adjustable pilar at the back. Looked like a V welded onto a long thick stainless steel bolt that screwed into an upright for the rear height adjustment.

Shhhhhhh. Just happened to find some lying around the workshop at work, also found a welding rod, it was the strangest thing.
