Storing trnsporting permits

So I have gotten 2 sa 529 permits to store firearms in a registered safe that only lasts 3 months, meaning I have to go throught the whole process every time it expires. Has anyone heard of any other permits allowing storage, transport and "use" for over that period?

Do you not mean a 539 permit? Only the S21 permit allows you to use it.

Does that allow me to transport, use and buy ammo? Or am I not so lucky...

I currently have 2 x SAPS 539 in my safe and the DFO approved them for a year. No, you may only keep the firearm in the safe and may not use it, transport it or purchase ammunition with it. I am not sure if this also allows you to store ammunition for the said firearm.

The section 21 allows you do do anything that an ordinary licence holder may do.

I point out that I have only ever heard of them being issued where the applicant has already applied for a licence in the ordinary course and can satify the provincial DFO that he/she requires the firearm urgently.
