I got my Howa .308 about a month ago - shoot like a dream. If you want the wife to shoot with there is a guy in Bloem that makes really good suppressors which will reduce the recoil even more ,my wife shoot my Howa with the suppressor with ease.
It makes sense to buy the Howa rather than the Remington and spend the money you save on a decent scope and suppressor.
PM me if you need contact details

THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH THE REMINGTON, but as said. Its not twice the gun.
with the deal from City guns, you get a Howa 1500 .308 and you get to buy a nice Nikon 4-12 x 40 Scope and a bag and a box or two of ammo, all for R 8000.00
Heck you could even get a nice DOW skining knife in the deal for the 8k.
    Actually i think i need a 375 Ruger.
got to go and make a phone call now.

Guys... Please please lease read the cityguns ad properly... It is excluding vat. Which pusehes the price closer to 9.5K.

I suggested it for another guy on GS and so i will suggest it here again. Get a remington sps tactical AAC-SD. They had one at zimbi two weeks ago. Also at VLT and safari and outdoor.

It has a thick heavy 20 inch barrel with a 1 in 10 "tactical" twist rate and the end is already threaded for a suppressor or muzzlebrake. It has a hogue overmolded stock so no worries with the wood you mentioned earlier and the rifle is proven to be accurate out to a thousand yards.

Remington literally cant make these guns fast enough and they are heavily backordered in the states. If you can get one, grab it. Oh they go for around 13k... But take 1.8k off that cause thats what a smith will charge to thread the barrel.
