Johannesburg - Two men are expected to appear in the New Brighton Magistrate's Court on Monday after they were found in possession of a hand grenade, firearms, and magazines, Eastern Cape police said.

Warrant Officer Dumile Gwavu said the men, aged 18 and 22, were arrested on Thursday after the armed robbery of a taxi driver and his passenger.
"They took an undisclosed amount of money and a cellular phone from the passenger and ran away," he said.
Gwavu said police found the men at a house, and three cellphones including the passenger's phone were found in their possession.
"The home of [the] 18-year-old man was searched and a hand grenade, two firearms, both 9 mm pistols with numbers filed off, two magazines and five live rounds were recovered."
The men face charges of robbery with a firearm, possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition and unlawful possession of explosive devices.
