EC farmer murdered, wife seriously injured

An elderly farmer has been murdered on his farm Bassonsberg in the Cookhouse Area.

Police have named him as Jonathan Stefanus Troskie.
Police captain Stefanie Smith says Troskie's body was discovered by his son at about ten o'clock last night.

The deceased wife was assaulted during the attack and was taken to the Andries Vosloo Hospital for treatment.
She was transferred to a hospital in Port Elizabeth on Friday morning.

Cluster Commander, Brigadier Madoda Zamkana, condemned the murder and attack on Troskie's wife and said Police would leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.

The suspects fled with several firearms in the couple's Toyota Camry.

Both the vehicle and fire arms were abandoned by the suspects and were found by police not far from the crime scene.

    KZN farmer, wife, tortured

Police are hunting for five people suspected of taking part in a horrific attack on a KwaZulu-Natal farm that left the farmer dead and two others injured.

Pietermaritzburg - Police are hunting for five people suspected of taking part in an attack on a KwaZulu-Natal farm that left the farmer dead and two others injured.

The gang tortured Winterton sugarcane farmer Mohammad Enger, 67, and his 56-year-old wife Razia and shot one of Enger’s farmworkers at his farm last Thursday, the Sunday Tribunereported.

The couple’s domestic worker Nonhlanhla Gumede said she was awoken by Razia’s screams and moments later had a gun shoved into her face.

Enger died after he was beaten, stabbed and tortured with a hot iron. His wife sustained burns to her legs and a stab wound to her back.

Gumede, who says she now struggles to sleep at night, was also threatened with rape.

No arrests have been made, KwaZulu-Natal police say.

Indeed. We can only hope that karma is a particularly vengeful bitch for this scum. Event the death penalty would be too lenient.

RIP to the deceased, and 'sterkte' to the rest of the victims.
