Which rifle calibre would you buy now???
I'm in the market for a good condition second hand .375 H&H,
but it seen to me a lot of people are also looking for the same calibre.
Maybe I'll have to spend the money to buy a new one . . .
So, I'm wondering what is the most sought after rifle calibre on the market now. ???
Please vote, Thanks for your input. lv29

Re: Which rifle calibre would you buy now???
I voted for the 270 but the one I would choose if I could would be a 7 x 64. Similar to a 243 but slightly bigger bullet. 7 x 57 would also go down nicely!

Re: Which rifle calibre would you buy now???
My first choice (I know alot of ppl will disagree but stuff it) is .300WSM
Reason being, will shoot a heavier .30 bullet at speed, which is what I like, meat damage is an unfortunate side effect but ja...

Re: Which rifle calibre would you buy now???
In the 375 "category" I would choose a 9,3x62. Easier to shoot, easier to carry, easier to reload, cheaper to reload, cheaper to buy ammo and it will do just about most of the things the 375 does except at longer ranges (250m+) and animals bigger than Buff.
If I wanted power at longer ranges I would then rather get a 338 over the 375 and if I wanted to shoot bigger than Buff I would get a 458Lott or 416 or similar.

Re: Which rifle calibre would you buy now???
I shoot 195gr HV GS custom bullets with my 9.3X62 leaving the muzzle at 2960fps. Shooting 1" high at 100m and 2" low at 200m with a 1.5" group at 200m.
Factory PMP 286gr Pro-Amms leave the muzzle at about 2250fps. Standard length action, 24" barrel and is light compared to a 375 H&H.
Choosing one rifle is difficult, but if pressed I would go for the 30-06 if you do not consider the big 5. The 06 is good for anything up to Eland, although not reccommended.

Re: Which rifle calibre would you buy now???
The idea to pick up a .375 is to do go after a dagga boy, with a 380 grains Rhino.
That should get me very close to .400 cal knock down power.
And I have no intention to hunt anythings larger than a buffalo.
Otherwise I would go with Khumba idea to buy a .458 Lott.
Or a .470 NE double would be a lovely toy as well . . . fighting0002
But isn't the .458 Lott are more in demand than .375??? ???
