1911 recoil spring buffer.
Will it damage the pistol if it is used without the rubber buffer that sits in the recoil spring assembly. I spoke to someone that shoots a 1911 and he recons that it is ok to shoot without it. I have F/S league this Sat and cannot find one in Bloemfontein.

Re: 1911 recoil spring buffer.
You don't need the buffer. It may help if you are shooting thousands of rounds in practice, but even then the switch-out rate is crazy and you will need lots of buffers. I say change your recoil spring every 5000rd and your hammer spring every 10,000 and don't worry about it.

The gun was designed work without it. It works better without it.
