    Default SIRT training pistol

Any thoughts on this as a dri-fire training gun and also from where they can be had.

    Looks legit to me!

As far as I could see they cost in the US close to what we pay here for real guns in the Glock arena. So we would probably en up paying more than that for them here. Looks great as a training tool, but not sure at that cost.

I'd rather buy a set of snap-caps and the rest of the money I'd spend on reloading stuff to practice actual shooting. Training with your own gun is crucial. The trainer's trigger, weight, balance, etc. won't be the same as your own FA's, making a large part of the training useless anyway.

I think the issue is its a whole purpose built firearm, so there are license issues here in SA with the slide and frame. Its not just a drop in "barrel" or trigger kit, and the inventor purposely did this to encourage a high volume of training- whenever you want you just grab the whole SIRT gun and do some dry fire. There's no time/effort needed to swap parts and take your SD gun out of action.

No need to licence it here, doesn't count as a firearm ito the Act. If you shoot Glock, I think it is awesome. Mags can be weighted to suit your own, sights are replaceable, everything.

The cost will just be a factor.

Its a way to get dry fire with a result.

I use our demo all the time.

They arent cheap but they are pretty much free to run and obviously 100% safe as well.

Mike Hughes is a competitive USPSA shooter, concealed carry instructor and was a finalist on Season 3 of the Hit TV Show Top Shot. He is also the founder and owner of Next Level Training and the creator of the the SIRT™(Shot Indicating Resetting Trigger) which is used for what Mike has termed “high volume, self diagnostic firearms training”.

Mike Hughes is changing the way shooters train with the SIRT system. SIRT Training Pistols are replica guns that emit a laser when breaking the auto resetting trigger (no need to rack the slide).

Training is the foundation for excelling in pistol and rifle craft. A majority of training involves gun handling. SIRT Training Systems are designed for simplicity. These inert training systems lower barriers to entry allowing training to happen virtually anywhere. Low reoccurring cost and quick set-up make training rewarding.

    Awesome, thanks.

Will definitely look into it when the finances are up to scratch again. I do a lot of dry fire with snap caps, and I'm interested in the feedback this device gives.
