Silencers
Good day Fellow members
Can you perhaps help and advice?
Do silencers really help for recoil and accuracy?
I was at a shooting range this weekend with 30-06 … ( about 30 shots ) …. And I can feel it after a couple shots

Re: Silencers
A good one does help with recoil and if fitted properly it wont have a negative affect on accuracy.

Re: Silencers
Plenty of threads on this Carel.
Just go to advance search and type suppressor or silencer or both.
In short recoil -50%, accuracy 0%, although personally I find that the added weight of the suppressor helps with accuracy.

Re: Silencers
Hello Carel. I battled to find joy in shooting my 300wm so I had a reflex silencer fitted ( made and fitted by Oom Barney Burkhard, Klerksdorp ). It is difficult to put a percentage decrease in kick but I can now shoot the whole day long in place of only 15 shots. It is also more accurate. It seems as if some of the barrel whip is removed by the extra weight on the end of the barrel. I am also not expecting the kick anymore. One point that I would like to mention with the reflex silencer is heat. The barrel gets very hot and it takes ages to cool down.

Re: Silencers
I run a Ase Utra Northstar on my Remington R25 and it is brilliant. there is no issue with heat retention on the barrel due to a clearance between the barrel and suppresor.

Pleasure. They do a good job over there. They have done a few for me already.
