I see absolutely no problem in reviving an inactive thread, regardless of age.
Threads can become neglected because of forum members being distracted by new threads piling up on top, and so some disappear under the pile.
If a so-called "necro-post" is relevant then why, please God, start a new thread? I see no point.

Okay- arguments noted.
But whenever we have a new member join, they ask a question already answered. This prompts a 'search the threads' answer.
This, in some cases, gives rise ro a necropost.
It's a bit of a moot argument: don't revive an old post- but search the forum because your question has (possibly) been answered.
Is it just me?
