    Default Learning the hard way

I had two very professional safety officers in my detail at EZDPC today and I learnt a lot, to put it mildly.

I killed two bloody hostages on the first stage ... that had nothing to do with the SOs ... the hostages would not duck. I got a PE for racking the slide after inserting a magazine on a tactical reload. That's 13 seconds down ... I only got two points down on the targets themselves. I did not know that rule (about racking, not the hostages).

No problems on the second stage. Interesting one where you had to assemble your weapon after a field strip before you could shoot. No hassles on stage three either.

The next PE came on stage four, where I failed to "brace" the pistol while shooting with my weak hand. I actually shot better than I thought I would on this one ... I blame the dot torture drill.

Last stage, last PE. "Cover" she shouted, but I had started shooting already. I must go on a diet and I must get decent hearing protection.

But a fun morning again, thank you EZDPC and thank you Paul and Lynette for teaching me a hell of a lot in a short morning. Bloody hostages.

We've had multiple HONTs and PE's. The weekend after SSP warned me here on the forum to not load my starting mag with 11rounds as I'll get a PE for a brainfart someday, I did just that, and got the PE.

Sorry, I forget the term they used. It's when you have to hold your shooting hand elbow against your body when you pull the trigger.

    no such rule, afaik.
it's a good habit yes... to help tense up your inner core and upper body.

No, it's not about IDPA rules. It's a club shoot. They can probably make local rules ... if you don't follow them it's a PE. You will not see this in a league match I'm sure.
