Default Interesting New "Rules" at your local FRC

I thought it might be useful to start a thread where you can list interesting new "rules" and "requirements" cooked up by your local FRC. Perhaps between our collective noggins we can figure out whether these are actual regulations or were invented in the spare moments between molesting the stray dogs chained to the washing line and surfing the net for donkey-porn.

Here are the gems from my latest application:

"You must have the actual SAP 350 for the firearm"
AFAIK this is stool. You only need the SAP 350 details in the relevant place on the form. Still, the clerk said that she agrees with me but if I don't include it CFR will send it back anyway.

"We need to re-inspect your safe, re-check your references and you need a copy of your training certificate again."
WTF? Then what was the point of applying for competency??

The real question lies in what to actually do with the problems. I am loath to complain to the DFO, as I really would rather not have my paperwork lost for a third time. I believe that this is a realistic concern. In addition, there is nothing stopping the clerk at CFR from sending your paperwork back to the FRC and delaying the process by months.

Perhaps it is time to organise ourselves, find a responsible person of suitable seniority to be able to address these issues and formally complain about each of these issues as they occur.

And better yet if u subumit in the morning your paper work goes asap if u submit in the afternoon we put it in a box labled for tomorrow.

My application is at the regional DFO, I want to follow it up,

Quote Local DFO: " I cant tell you you must contact regional"

Phone regional, Quote: " We wont give you any info, all enquiries must come from local DFO"

Makes me frustrated that this is our money that these people are using to just mess us around.

Yes when i applied they wanted the original SAP350 which is BS but one thing i learned is just take my advise DO WHAT THEY ASK YOU.
If they want the original SAP350 give it to them if they ask you to NOT use ure black waterman pen and ony a bic pen do it.

This way they feel in charge and happy that you listen to them and stuff goes like a bomb.

Andre, I would like to srongly disagree with you. They must stick to what is in the Act and Regulations. If you allow them to make up their own rules then where will it stop. Where will you draw the line. What are you going to say when they make up new other new rules like maybe , you can only apply for one license at a time or We have a new policy that we will not license firearms in calibers that are used by the military etc.

out frikkin standing sentiment pepperball am with you on this!
I am studying an awesome brand of leg fighting which was inspired by dung beetles and I think my brand of Kraft Manure is superior to all other styles ever invented. Furthermore I challenge all other manurists to a rolling contest where we shall establish whose manure ball is the biggest! I shall call it Honest Kraft Manure and declare it superior to all other brands of manure and will tell you that I have claimed the lineage directly to Imshi the great Dragon Kru Master Beetler who invented manuring, by gathering all manure from different animals together and making it work as the worlds most effective fertilizer. I proved myself by being members of not one but three super elite special gardening departments who were responsible for spreading manure to combat weed infestations!

Ok fair enough but thats unfortunatly not how the fuck it works in this country.

4 weeks ago while at the DFO in alberton they firstly told me your photos is too big( this is the photos that i KNOW IS CORRECT.) so i went to take new ones.

2ndly i had to got the original SAP350. SO I WAS FUCKED off and went to Geoff and asked him for the original and gave it to them.

4 weeks later my safe inspection is done and at the DFO in PTA.

My best friend who went with me on the same day who had all the same stuff bought the same glock on the same day as me were full of it didnt change his ID photos didnt supply a original SAP350 and when i phoned alberton today on behalf of him they told me youre application is wrong you need to come see us.

Now that means he has to take of ANOTHER day from work and i can garuntee you he will have to get the original SAP350 and the size photos he want.

You guys are more then welcome to keep on giving me shit BUT i am in the force and know what is going for what and at this moment the SAPS is by no meens up to standard some days i feel ashamed to say im part of this team. I'm allways the first one to stand up for what i believe in but in some cases shut your trap and do as you are told.

Appologies for swearing it is in no way meant towards you guys my fellow gunsiters it is out of agression for this country.

The same thing is happening to the justice system in this damn country. These days if u arrest a hi jacker that shot and wounded a fellow officer you hear later the week he has been released.

This is the other shit news i get these days. Breaks my heart. Guess you must take the law into your own hands and deal with these people.

I hear what you say Andre but the problem with that way of thinking is that pretty soon the process is going to be so overburdened with "made up" rules that none of us will be able to comply even if we wanted to.
