Got shown how to shoot my M&P 15-22 today.
Took it to the range this morning to zero my Aimpoint H-1. I'd gotten it dialed in at 25m and was putting groups of about the sizeof a R5 coin into the target and feeling if not good, happy.
There was a lightie and I mean a lightie of about 10, if that, shooting an air rifle next to me. He was am amazingly polite guy. First he expressed an interest in the 15-22 (the only semi on the line) and told me I had a very nice gun. I said thanks and offered to let him shoot it. He said no.
A couple of minutes later he asked where I got it. So I told him. Another couple of minutes go by and then he asks me if I would let him shoot it. Very well mannered and very polite. So I said sure. Checked with his dad and he OK'd it.
Gave him 25 rounds of Geco 40gr LRN to plink away with. EVERY round went into a group the size of a R1 coin and a group the size of a 10c had most of them in it and it was just a ragged hole. The kid was a machine. I was tempted to run the target out to 75m to see what he could do, but they were leaving. It made me feel kinda bad about the groups I was shooting. I'm gonna have to spend a couple of trips to the range practicing! Nice to know the rifle can do it!

Nice story! That kid's dad is gonna have to cough it up for Christmas!Be ready for anything, and if his head is not at least two meters away from the body, do not 'assume' he is dead and out of the fight. - Ikor

That is also why yo should never let your missus shoot, she'll end up making you regret boasting about your grouping :p

Oh hell yeah. I learnt that YEARS ago. I now just boast about HER groups. I know she can out shoot me any day of the week. Any zombie apocalypse happens, she's in charge of the headshots. I'll take the shotgun thanks. Actually, she's better than me with a shotgun as well :(
