Long range (600 yard) shooting @ Rashoop range 7 April 2013
Hi all.
This is a friendly invitation for some long range shooting fun at Rashoop shooting range in Brits, Sunday 7th April.
Rashoop is an old military style shooting range with a max range of 600 yards.
Only targets available are some 30 x 30 military metal falling plates, so if you want to shoot something else, bring it along.
Paper target frames are available but please bring own targets if you intend to shoot paper.
Also, there are no shade available, so please bring your own if you want shade. Rashoop can get pretty hot!
The Rashoop range is located just outside of Brits, and the GPs co-ords are as follows:
S25°31'57.28"
E027°46'20.01"
Range fees R50 per shooter.
Hope to see lots of shooters there!

Sounds like fun! What are you shooting with Mic? The 7x57?

Re: Long range (600 yard) shooting @ Rashoop range 7 April 2013
I'll be shooting my Parker-Hale scoped 7x57 hunting rifle, as well as my original 1893 DWM Mauser in 7x57. Will also take the 303 no4Mk2 along for some fun as well. Previously I came close to those plates, but did not hit them with the open sighted rifles. Did manage a hit with the scoped 7x57. The other two guys also managed to hit those plates, one with a 338 Lapua mag, the other with a 338 win mag. I also could not hit them, or came close to those plates with my Saiga in 7.62x39 (simply could not see any sighters)
We have a limited amount of metal plates available, but we can move them to any distance up to 600y.

Great stuff!
I will probably be on the range at about 7am to set up the gazebo on 600y mark.
Kaspaas, looking forward to the challenge.
