Anyone know where I can buy a small motor. I doubt that I am going to find the same one but something similar will do?
In what way did it pack up? Did it just stop or did it slow down and start to smell burnt? What area are you from?

It still runs and there is no burnt smell BUT
Its overheating and sounds like a bearing noise once it starts heating up
If you run it for 1 minute it already starts heating up and after about 10minutes its very hot.
    I'm in Sandton / JHB

    Consider changing the bearings?

If I recall correctly, rebel use shaded pole motors for their tumbler (the same that are used in household desktop fans) I bought one a few (read around 10) years ago from a refrigeration company...

It wont be a drop in replacement, but some craftiness will get it to work I imagine.

Sorted out, well mostly. I just need to order a new slightly longer belt. (which I will do on Monday from BearingMan)

I bought a new 34W Fridge motor (EBM Papst)from Tecsareco and mounted it. It fitted nicely between the mounting brackets of the old motor and I only had to drill 4 new holes.

I had to make a new pulley. I used the old belt (albeit a bit tight) to test everything out and the drum revolves at just under 26rpm.

Can anyone who has a Rebel count the approximate RPM for me please.

Where are you from Clouds? What are you going to do with the old motor?

    Sandton JHB.
Throwing it away - I've cut the cord off and used it on the new motor.

Please throw it away, as I must stop hoarding, fiddling and fixing broken stuff. I most of the time spend hours fixing something just because I can, even if it is not worth it. Haha thats me.

    Hi there

Anyone know where I can get from those SS Pins close to Pretoria North.

Ok, so I slapped my DIY tumbler together last night. I have tumbled around 1300 9mm cases since.
I clean my brass at work in an ultrasonic cleaner with a 4% acetic acid mix followed by Isopropanol.
This cleans the brass really well within 20minutes.
The brass gets a copper colour though and stains easily.
After dry tumbling with green corn cob and with some Maguire's car polish, it comes out really great.
Best of all, I use less than 50% of the force in the press during the various stages. Even the primers just slip in. It feels like working on a new press!
