Re: Mmmmmm thinking about a handgun
They all come in Gen 4, except the 30S ... have you looked at that yet?

Re: Mmmmmm thinking about a handgun
Just read this whole thread.
Reaffirms my Glock19 decision.
@Andrew: enjoy whatever you decide on!

My WML is on my G19 by my side right now as I type this. The chances of me using it at night far outweighs using it during the day. Not everywhere has lights and switches aren't always accessible when SHTF. I'll be the first to admit I'm not experienced but I'm pretty sure WML beats a hand held every day. I was in this same dilemma a few months ago and this along with the 'floating' pinkie were the deciding factors in choosing the 19.
Good luck with your choice, you've clearly done your research.
I'm sure you will be happy with either!

Re: Mmmmmm thinking about a handgun
Ok,
so had the P07 in my grubby mitts today.
Like the DA trigger, nice and smooth. In general the best trigger for me of the four I have dry fired. The "checkering" on the grip is rather abrasive but that should wear down a bit. Trigger finger is a little uncomfortable on DA but then when in SA is real nice and has a real positive reset. It is a little heavier than the other contenders but it points very well.
So have shot the S&W M&P 9 and 9 compact. Friday get to shoot the H&K P30, the P07 and the G17.
At this stage, purely based on grip comfort, controls on the pistol and general ergonomics (and the ability to alter grip) the P30 is tops for my hands. Next would be the S&W M&P9 followed by the CZ and the Gen 3 G17. The Gen 4 G17 will probably pip the CZ for comfort, not too sure what the new grips do for the ability to point. Time will tell.
The overall front runner in the carry / ergonomics category is the M&P 9 compact which, with the 17 round magazine and the rubber grip insert make it extremely comfortable as it becomes a full grip yet retaining the compactness.
The H&K is roughtly twice the price of the G17, the new prices on the S&W will probaly be the same as the Glock a little down from that is CZ.
I started this process with a specific weapon in mind (will reveal this later) but my opinions are definitely changing.

Re: Mmmmmm thinking about a handgun
Interested in the history.
I'm leaning towards the G19, with a possible G26 for the wife ;)
