    Yes, it is definitely carryable. There is, however, a big difference between "carryable" for police and military personnel, and civillian "carryable". Policemen, soldiers etc usually carry highly visible on a heavy and purpose-designed rig/belt, which is not the case for civillians. Civillians often have lighter means of carrying, which causes heavier handguns to become uncomfortable. That is why - in quite a few cases - heavier handguns end up lying in the gun safe for many years. I do not know whether that would be the case with you.

    You say EDC is not a factor, but taking it with you in the evenings, when needed, you also want something that is not uncomfortable and heavy to carry around, so also just keep that in mind.
