An important issue regarding ones rig:

Make sure you can get into & out of a vehicle easily (Well relatively) Sas 13 April 2013 (354).jpg

I experimented with a belt & suspenders type rig to be used with my SKS (A war belt sounds better)

Its great for prone or running about but a real pain to drive with.

Each rig also depends on you physique/build.

Chest rigs & vests make it extremely hot in some of the drills (The L2 in January was no joke!), the belt & suspenders are much cooler.

Grab handles or well stitched straps, are also important, we have done some emergency "take your buddy for a drag" and some straps cant handle it, breaking in the process.
Recent studies show that 1 out of every 3 liberals are just as dumb as the other 2

Ok, so part of the L1 kit is a flashlight with a red lens or red lens cover.

what do you guys use? Normal headlamps with red option or flashlights?

I cant find any red lens filters for any of my Surefire or Inforce lights.

Nope the red lens is part the level 2 kit if I remember correct. I use a normal headlamp from Due South, with the 3 stage switch, 1 bright, 2 Dim, 3 Red. It does the job, for now. Inexpensive and functional.
You will probably need to test your gear first, and then decide if it works for you or if it needs some more tweaking.
I like S-a-s most for this,... I get to test my gear and tweak it, as we go along.
Please post, what you test and end up using.
