Default Sleeping late is bad for you

First off, let me start by saying I'm not a hunter, I've never shot anything other than birds that bothered my bees and I've shot at a baboon. once. I missed. obviously

So this morning I decided to just chill in bed a little longer than I should, I'm tired after yesterdays fun at the SARL AGM and the afternoon visit to SANSA (South African National space agency) when suddenly my one dog starts to go nuts outside. Obviously I think those monkeys are after our oranges again, but as I peel away my curtain from my window and look up the direction she's barking I see this big ass warthog. Now I've said I'm not a hunter, but I seriously want to get a warthog. So I think "this is my day...." I run to the safe, on my way there I explain to my dad (we live together) about the warthog, his first words "stay away", but now I can see he starts to think..... "ok, you sure it's inside the cage?" (cage being the term we use for the fenced area around our house).

So I got permission to grab the shotgun, had to reload it with SSG quickly, grab flipflops and there we go. The old man properly dressed and me in a boxer and flipflops, perfect hunting gear

As we get to the gate leading to the area where I saw the hog my dad asks me how sure am I it was inside, cause he just saw it running outside and away from us... ...

So yeah, it got away. Dug a biggish hole underneath the fence and got away...... If only I was a little quicker and had a .303 or something and not a scattergun....
